  • First Day As a School Librarain & Teacher!

    My hands are now practically shaking & my throat is hurting so bad from all the hard work I did as a librarian, kindergarten & primary school teacher!

    Honestly, kids these days are difficult to cope with. I had 4 classes today and the first three (one was the first level of kindergarten classes, two were the first & the sixth level of primary classes) went by smoothly with occasionally raising voice to stop them from talking and reading too loud (it’s a library, though a small one, for god’s sake) while reading their books. Also, with a tactic I learned from my new friend who was a former librarian here and is now a computer teacher, she told me that children (like first or second level of kindergarten or primary classes) love getting stamped with cute stamps on their hands or sheets. So I promised them all with the stamps if they behaved as I told. Though they only behaved for like thirty seconds but well, it was still a start and I was kind enough to do as I promised, even with the kids who didn’t really behave good.

    Overall, the young children will read LOUDER because this school teaches them to read out loud with the beat of the wooden stick hitting the table so I won’t care much, I just try different approach on making more of reading class. However, older children are different cases. They don’t read louder but they always talk. Anyway, today, the sixth class most likely to talk within the group because they were planning and making the paper characters so I let it drop.

    I glanced at the timetable and saw only one class left, I thought.


    “Okay, just another first level of primary class would not be too bad. It has been quite impressive on my first day.”

    Sadly, I was totally wrong!

    This class was DISASTER! I shouted as much as the cold I have been having for almost three weeks allowed me to do. They all came and picked up new books all the time and talking REALLY loud and asking to play computer. Even with their own class teacher (who was like a caretaker too) admitted with me that she just started here three weeks ago and the kids never been easy to her neither!

    As my (well, at least now it is mine) library has ten desktop computers, they always demanded (and will always demand) to play computer games in the class. I decided to give them false hope by saying I would let them play after reading enough books, when I finished telling story or when they behaved and SHUT UP finally!

    I delayed the time as much as I could by letting them reading pop-up books on the shelves that are only allowed on free time, not in the class. They caved in there with such forces and I immediately regretted it. Luckily, there was this little shabby girl named “Fai” and a quite shabby boy helped me arranged it all so I gave them the permanent stamps on the index paper to collect the stamps. Everytime they help me, they will get one. Eventually another boys towed on me, asking for the same but the former librarian teacher came in and ushered them away before they got a chance to demanded any more thing.

    Another funny thing I made fun of myself accidentally was when I came back after lunch break. (Honestly, the food there IS really real good, delicious food as manager told me!) I was busy with lending books to students from the class next to library. I quickly turned on A/C and went back to the table. Then a boy said.

     “Teacher, you turned on the A/C but you forgot the close the windows!”

    I was like “Heck! I’m DOOMED!” because just in the late morning, the school manager and owner’s brother strolled to watch over the school and reminded me to save as much energy as possible. I recalled that so I said. “Then help me close it! Thank you, guys!”

    Those boys were very good, they helped closing it all while I was busy at the table. Then I let them played games on computers as they wished.

    Around 3 PM, I gotta help sending students off to parents. Up until 5 PM, I went back to clean  up all the mess like the books they accidentally tore up or some pieces of paper on the floor, covered up the monitors and arranged the tables & chairs. I spent an hour in there until the teacher (I’ll call her ‘Red Head’ because she dyed her hair in reddish hue and she is very fun and being the most respective teacher in the second floor) called out to ask why I was still up here.

    After all the work done, I went to hospital to get the final vaccine but the dang thing was not so simple because of those stone-aged workers (I’ll tell you about it later) so my precious an hour of relaxing wasting away at hospital and some errands my father kept forgetting today.

  • Coincidentally New Job + Clients From Hell #6

    I just got back from the school today as I got a job, coincidentally. I was positioned as a school librarian and computer teacher there. Here is a story.

    Yesterday I was sitting at the cafe, surfing the net while waiting for my sister to finish her job and went home together. When I turned around to see my sister. The lady in mid forty who sat at the table behind me saw me and she was like, "Oh, dear. What are you doing here?"

    Honestly, I could not remember her name but I used to see her around once in a while. I greeted her and just replied I was surfing the net here.

    So she invited me to join her table if I hadn't had dinner yet. I reluctantly accepted and she asked me random of things, mostly about my education. Then she asked if I was interesting to do the office job since I could use computer. I said yes and she told me to meet her at her school. That was when I recalled her was an owner of one well-known private kindergarten/primary school I used to attend for a year and used to be my teacher in kindergarten class. And my dad used to help her about a will decade ago so they were quite a good friend to each other.

    She and her friend (later I found out she is the headmistress of the said school) insisted me (and my sister) to order as many as we wanted but I just ordered two things to eat with rice and ate whatever they already ordered. Then we talked until they finished and leaved.

    You know, it is very weird. I just sat there and the job dropped on me unknowingly and unexpectedly!

    We arrived home and I could not wait to share this excited news to my dad only to get upset by a drug-addicted client who we just worked for. He sent a series of SMS to my dad, cursing my dad many mean things, saying he was not the good person to ask for money and wishing we would never get any success in this life and refused to pay the rest of payment and forbade him to not contact him again.

    I have to say I was in rage until the tears spilled out! I cried for almost an hour, thinking:

    "How dare he? We worked hard, running around to many judges in high court to help his case. We got that disturbing missed calls because of his case (we suspected polices who involved in the case was the one behind that), and he returned us with these words through SMS? Such a coward and I wish he would just go to jail because he is the one who's really bad person, not my dad."

    My dad said the client was true for one thing: We were bad people since we decided to do the case for him. You understand, right? This client is almost 30 years old, doing drug since who knows when until the police caught him as a drug dealer and has been working in the low payment job for decades. And when my dad just asked for the final payment, he cursed my dad was an evil person?!

    However, my dad told me he first felt the same but since he had been studying Buddha's knowledge for years, he walked around, prayed the kindness to forgive this client for an hour while waiting for us. The weird thing was, when he got messages, it was exactly around when I got job proposal.

    They said, what goes around, comes around and if we were bad, we should only get bad deed, right? But what we have been getting is more than the best! Now I got too many jobs in row and my dad has been recovering better and better.




    So we would never get any success in our lives? He was wrong.

    Oh, wait, he was wrong. We already got enough success in our lives.

  • Five Recommended New Albums 4 Every Ear!



    OneRepublic - Waking Up

    They come back with new album finally! After their hit track “Apologize” which featuring Timbaland. (Though I personally like their original version better.) made it to the chart perfectly. I got this album on Monday and I could not stop listening to “All the Right Moves”, the first single out of this album. It is very powerful song and caught my ears almost immediately, even Thai radio stations get this song request every single hour!  All the track especially “All the Right Moves”, “Fear”, “Everybody Loves Me”, “Made For You”, “Good Life”, “Marchin’ On” and “Lullaby” tracks are very good to listen as you can experience their new style which I suppose got inspired by many of old rock group like Chicago or even the Beetles. It’s not hard rock though, more like the heartbreaking rock with some playful/sarcastic feeling instead.

    Overall, if you already liked their first single, you probably like the rest. If you haven’t listened to them, you should try it. Not the junk album at all! Highly recommended this!



    Norah Jones - The Fall

    This one is the most recommended album for Jazz lovers. Norah Jones is back with new album, “The Fall”, after let us waiting for three years. I’m though not really a fan of her but this album got into me a lot. She makes her jazz song to be listen-able to all range of listener, not limited to only Jazz. I would consider this as easy-listening with a bit of pop and country with lovely piano melody. Very great album if you’re sick of listening to Hannah Montana and Jonas Brothers and after this, you’ll learn what is really called “music”. (Eh, but why I have this “Poison Ivy” song in my ipod? Haha.)

    My favorite tracks out of “The Fall” are “Even Though”, “Tell Yer Mama”, “Chasing Pirates” and “I Wouldn’t Need You”.




    Leona Lewis - Echo

    Okay, not much to say with this powerful singer, you all know she’s awesome. How could she sings that really high pitch note I would never know. But her new album is not disappointed.

    Most of the tracks sound like grown-up from her debut album a lot and don’t sound like trashy pop but it is mostly Pop with a bit R&B and even Electro. Anyway, all album features slow songs and up-tempo so it might not be the good choice for those who’s with broken heart. LOL.

    Her standout tracks in my POV are “I Got You”, “Can't Breathe”, “Brave”, “Outta My Head” (No, not a cover of Ashley Simpson, mind you.), “Broken”, “Naked”, “Alive” and “Don't Let Me Down”. Some tracks sound similar to the other ones but only hear her voice is enough to get entertained.



    John Mayer - Battle Studies

    His new album is like a mini biography of him because I literally felt how he felt before, during and after break-up with Jennifer Aniston. (Or else I was imagining thing.) After I listened to the whole album, I must say I’m very impressed. It is very different from his previous albums with guitar line, chorus, melody and all. He even had Taylor Swift (right?) featuring in “Half Of My Heart” and it sounds wonderful since no one else is hotter than Miss Swift now adays, right?

    Most of this album is easy-listening pop and softly sung by John Mayer. You can relax with his songs while imagining what he was thinking while writing that song. Perfect...

    My recommended tracks other than “Half Of My Heart” are “Perfectly Lonely”, “Edge of Desire”, “Crossroads”, “War Of My Life” and “Friends, Lovers Or Nothing”. (Did the last song mean something? Hint, hint!)



    Rihanna - Rated R

    No more innocent Barbados girl singing S.O.S with rated PG! Now Rihanna decided to turn herself into Rated R star finally!

    Oi, people! No, not that rated R clips (unless you wanna get your girls kick you to the pulp for being too naughty) but Rated R is Rihanna’s long awaited album since she sang ella, ella, eh, eh... “Umbrella” in “Good Girl Gone Bad” album decades ago (okay, I’m over dramatic, it is just a couple of years ago). Don’t worry, I think you can still hear some ella, ella, eh, eh in one of the new tracks here (though I can’t remember which one)  just in case you missed it.

    Her first single “Russian Roulette” is reported to make its way to top the chart soon and followed closely by “Hard (featuring Jeezy)” as the next single. Anyway, this album of her may not be as catchy as we expected at first. It is almost purely R&B influenced with Rock but I actually like it. It is almost totally different from previous album which is mostly Electro/Pop/Dance or rather bright while this Rated R is rather dark just as its title name. Her album cover looks a bit too funk for my liking but it really expresses how different and stronger she is now. (Watch that, Chris Brown. LOL.)

    Overall, this album is another worth listening album if you could throw away those bright look she used to be and tried to dive into her dark side. LOL.

    My favorite tracks out of Rated R (other than Russian Roulette): “Te Amo” (Personally, I think this track is the best out of her album with Spanish guitar and beat if I was not mistaken), “Rockstar 101 (featuring Slash)”, “Photographs (featuring Will.i.am)”, “Wait Your Turn”, “G4L” and “Cold Case Love”.



    Alright! Those are five mini review for you this week. Hope it helps you to find your new music for ipod (and any other music machine, of course. :D).

  • Anyone Using Ubuntu?

    I used to try Ubuntu on netbook at the mall a week ago and I really am smitten and curious with it and want to try it on my left-over desktop (yeah, left-over because I didn't use it for almost a year) and see what it will be like.

    Ubuntu is Linux based in which virus and malware rarely attack it so it doesn't need any third-party firewall or antivirus and that's why I'm really interest.

    Moreover, it is absolutely free. That's very intrigued since I'm sick of being the pirate. LOL. And many Linux programs seem really cool to play with. At least, I'll get to use my brain more.

    But the problem is after I researched for a while, I got confused with many, many, command line and since my home internet is still bronze-age (yeah, 56k) so it would take forever to download new applications to use via Software Center inside.

    & the real problem is, to install applications offline (from Windows-based PC) seems like the nightmare after I read instruction about it.



    So I wanna ask if anyone on Xanga ever used this Ubuntu operating system? If so, how is it? Is it difficult to use?

Racism = in Harry Potter, racism isn't about black or white or yellow but it's about blood status :Pureblood, Half-Blood and Muggle-Born (aka Mudblood) actually there's always a bit racism in Dramione fiction coz of Draco Malfoy is Pureblood and Hermione Granger is Muggle-Born and as you know, Draco's parents or pureblood side will nag at her and other Half-Blood and Muggle-Born (except some plot that they don't or rarely) so I won't warn you about blood racist so much but if that fiction really had issue about it (as for the main plot) so i'll warn with this.
